But for the V2 I chose some newer 'green' Seagate drives , which are barely audible. I suggest you look carefully at the noise specs of the disks you plan to buy. (Oh, and also make sure they are on the Hardware Compatability List for the ReadyNas Duo - see Netgear's support site for this). The other factor is the fan on the Duo case.
